On Friday we held a Youth Friendly City Roundtable at the Park Inn Hotel in Southend. We were delighted to bring together young people, our MP, local Cllrs & key decision-makers to discuss priorities for young people & steps needed for Southend to become a Youth Friendly City.
Over 50 people attend the event and we'd like to thank Anna Firth MP, Cllr's Carole Mulroney, Daniel Cowan, Maxine Sadza, Kathy Murphy, Ann Jones, Laurie Burton, Lydia Hyde & Martin Terry for attending & their continued support.
Thanks to David Bridson from YMCA England & Wales for chairing the event & sharing national context.
Special thanks goes to the amazing young people & the youth workers that attended from South Essex Community Hub - SECH, Southend Carers, Achievement Through Football, Trust Links Charity & St Cedds Youth Group.
It was fantastic to hear from such a wide range of young people & we look forward to creating a City where all young people can truly belong, contribute & thrive.
